Project title
Effective Photocatalytic Membrane Method for Removal of Organic Contaminants in Water Treatment. (Abbreviation: NOMRemove)

Objectives
The main objective of the project is the elaboration of a new methodology for removal of natural organic matters (NOMs) from potable water, which enables the highest ever reached degree of purification.

The basic idea of the project is the simultaneous application of four methods of water purification (nanofiltration, photocatalytic oxidation, UV treatment and chemical oxidation by oxidants). The water purification process will be designed in a way to obtain a maximum synergy between these purification methods. So the resulting NOM removal efficiency should be higher than anyone obtained either by consecutive application of single methods or by simultaneous application of them but without the benefits from their synergy.
