SINTEF is supporting the development of the Collaborative Planning Framework in which coordination of decisions takes place between the different actors (Airports, Airspace Users, Network manager, Air Traffic Control Centres) in the ATM system such that overall network performance is improved. In contrast to current slot allocation system which is based on first-planned, first served and only limited coordination takes place.
SINTEF's SIMADES is used as a simulation tool to evaluate and fine-tune different Collaboration Framework alternatives
SINTEF optimization technology and expertise to improve the legacy CASA algorithm and resolution of multiple conflicting measures
Advanced Demand and Capacity Balancing (SESAR PJ 09 DCB)
The project will evolve the existing DCB process to a powerful distributed network management function which takes full advantage of the SESAR layered collaborative planning, trajectory management principles and SWIM technology to improve the effectiveness of ATM resource planning and the network performance of the ATM system in Europe.
