We are currently seeking a motivated and skilled Structural Engineer to join our structural engineering group. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with background in structural engineering or mechanics to contribute to cutting-edge projects and research in the field.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct structural testing, with focus on fatigue testing, to evaluate the performance and durability of various materials and components, especially for offshore slender structures such as flexible pipes, umbilicals and power cables.
- Perform advanced finite element analysis to simulate structural behavior and predict performance under different conditions.
- Utilize scientific programming skills to develop, optimize, and implement numerical models for structural analysis.
- Contribute to the development of innovative testing methodologies and simulation techniques to support digital twin technologies for the future.
Minimum qualifications:
- Master's degree or higher in Structural Engineering, Material Science, Fracture Mechanics, Civil Engineering or related fields.
- Proven experience or strong interest in structural testing, particularly in the area of fatigue testing.
- Proficiency in advanced finite element analysis tools and software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proficiency in English language, both written and spoken.
Preferred qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Structural Engineering, Material Science, Fracture Mechanics, Civil Engineering or related fields.
- Scientific programming skills, including experience with languages such as Fortran, Python, C++ or similar.
- Experience with software such as ANSYS, Abaqus, MARC, or similar finite element analysis tools.
- Knowledge of marine slender structures such as flexible pipes, umbilicals and power cables.
- Awareness of industry standards and best practices in structural testing and analysis.
- Experience with statistics, data processing and artificial intelligence.
- Demonstrated ability to publish research findings in reputable journals or conferences.
- Fluency in Norwegian, both written and spoken.
