Friction and wetting of elastomer composites

Sammendrag

This presentation features the current state of research with respect to wetting and friction of elastomers.
Plasma and varnished elastomer composites have been characterized by different wetting methods and friction investigations. Furthermore, it has been shown that the use of graphene-like fillers in elastomers results in a strong reduction in the friction coefficient with respect to reference compounds (e. g. filled with N121). It is found that sufficient PAOS concentrations in elastomers and the formation of metal oxid nanoparticles on the elastomer surface significantly decrease friction for all systems and prevent stick-slip phenomena.
