Low-temperature CO2 removal from natural gas

Sammendrag

The following presentation will be based on preliminary results obtained in the KPN project A GREEN Sea. On the background of the project objective, “identify, mature and evaluate new technologies and concepts for acid gas removal (AGR) avoiding CO2 emissions to air and use of harmful chemicals”, different technology alternatives for acid gas removal are under investigation: membranes, low-temperature concepts, sorbents and solvents. This presentation will show results obtained for low-temperature CO2 removal from a raw natural gas feed stream containing 50% CO2. In order to compare acid gas removal concepts, different parameters such as energy efficiency, costs, flexibility, volumes, weights and others, can be used. Our presentation will contain two main sections: Estimates of energy consumption and heat and mass balances based on AspenTech HYSYS simulations Assessment of internal volumes and weights for the simulation models
