Topological segmentation for exploring turbulence-chemistry interaction

Sammendrag

Topological segmentation of the enstrophy field is a robust method for identifying structures to explore flameturbulence interaction. We use a fixed fraction of the maximum enstrophy for each vortex structure to identify the extents, avoiding ad hoc scalings to make the structure discernible. This provides desirable attributes of statistical descriptions (coherent with wide ranges) and measures such as the λ2 criterion that are topology aware but are not selective to intensity.
