Multimodal image-guided liver therapy research and training
October 2017: A new open access paper from USIGT has been published in IJCARS. The paper describes the full procedure on how to make an exact replica of a human liver for research purposes.
The liver model is multimodal, i.e. it may be imaged by ultrasound, CT and MR with realistic results, particularly for ultrasound and CT. The work has been part of the PhD project of candidate Anna Rethy. The work was also presented at SMIT 2016 in Delft, The Netherlands, and recieved best paper award at the conference. Several groups nationally and internationally have contacted us about this method as they are interested in making similar models, also of other organs.
