Biography

Clement Merat is Low Carbon and CCUS R&D Manager in the Stavanger Research Center of TOTAL in Norway. Clement has an engineering degree from the Institut National des Science Appliquées (INSA-France) and a master of science degree in fluid mechanics from the Stockholm Royal Institute of Technology (KTH-Sweden). With more than ten years in the energy industry, Clement has occupied various positions including O&G project management and coordination of process conceptual study. Over the past five years, he has been managing R&D activities for CO₂ transport by ship and by pipeline. More recently he has been appointed Low Carbon and CCUS R&D Manager for Norway and oversees activities on CO₂ capture, CO₂ transport, offshore wind power and decarbonization of offshore O&G activities.
