Trondheim offers a good selection of sights including the famous cathedral and several museums. For those wanting to explore more of Norway we recommend the following: 

• Røros is  located 2 hours southeast of Trondheim by car or train. It is a small town with a mining history listed as a UNESCO site.
• Norway is famous for the natural beauty of its fjords. To visit the fjords you need to travel by car or boat. From Trondheim you can drive southwest to Geiranger in a day. It is possible to spend one or several days there and then continue to the beautiful coast town of Ålesund from where it is also possible to fly home. Should you like to explore more of the west coast, you can travel further south via Stryn and Flåm to Bergen. Bergen is a convenient departure city for international guests.
