Fundamental models of PCM properties and behaviour

Elaborate numerical models representing the thermodynamic, chemical and behavioural properties of selected PCMs suited for low-temperature applications.

 

Advanced CFD models of PCM-CTES units
Develop reliable, experimentally validated 2D/3D computational fluid dynamics (CFD) models for dimensioning durable PCM-CTES units with high heat transfer rates and high storage capacity.

 

Dynamic system models and integration

Determine the best technical solutions for integration of PCM-CTES in selected industrial processes and optimize the corresponding PCM-CTES unit designs through dynamic system modelling.

 

Experimental pilot testing

Design and build lab-scale pilots of the optimized PCM-CTES units and carry out measurement campaigns to validate the simulation results under varying thermal loads.
