A vital component to the research effort of NCCS is the training of PhD students and Post doctoral researchers. NCCS intends to produce 20+ PhDs and 4 postdocs in Norway at NTNU, UiO, and UNIS, in addition to 5 PhDs at overseas universities. In addition, 50+ MSc candidates will be educated over the lifetime of the Centre.

The NCCS academic program will provide recruitment possibilities for NCCS partners. NCCS will also provide opportunities for students to take jobs as summer researchers. The PhD and Post doctoral researcher projects will address fundamental gaps in our understanding in topics important to the rapid deployment of CCS technologies. To ensure that all the work in the Centre is directed towards the common objectives, PhDs and Post doctoral researchers will be directly integrated into specific research tasks. All PhD students, postdocs and their supervisors will present their research in annual NCCS meetings and seminars. Researcher mobility will also contribute to the transfer of knowledge and experience.
