SFI Harvest is a long-term, stable research collaboration, teaming up with an interdisciplinary team of researchers, fisheries, bio marine industries, technology suppliers and interest groups.

SFI Harvest is a centre which will develop new technology that will contribute to solving the global challenges providing food to a growing population, in a sustainable manner. Our ambition is to develop knowledge and technology for responsible harvesting and processing of underexploited species. SFI Harvest is a centre for research-based innovation with six integrated research areas covering the entire bio marine value chain.
70 % of earth is covered by ocean, but only 2 % of the food we eat comes from the ocean. The ocean hosts a large number of underexploited species. To be able to harvest and process the lower trophic species advanced technology is required. SFI Harvest will draw upon Norway's leading position in the ocean and offshore sectors to develop new technologies. Our technological innovations must be paired with scientific knowledge about ecosystem dynamics, development of fisheries management and well-documented business models.
