Student excursion to Statoil Hammerfest LNG 2013
The Gas Technology Centre NTNU-SINTEF has long collaborated with Statoil to organize student excursions to Statoil’s industrial plants.

This year, 12 students have been selected to participate in an excursion to Statoil’s natural gas processing and liquefaction plant on Melkøya outside Hammerfest.

The students will stay for 5 days at Statoil Hammerfest LNG (21-25 October 2013), and participate in a course focusing on operation of a processing plant for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG). The intention is to give students an overall and practical understanding of how an LNG processing plant is operated. Emphasize will be on various work cycles and how different branches of science cooperates. The students will be challenged to use their knowledge to learn about the operational conditions in a modern processing plant. Training will be given by Statoil employees consisting of lectures, tours and group project assignments. The stay will give social gatherings and network building.
