Impact assessment tools

The term 'impact assessment tools' defines here any tool that can be used to estimate the impacts of planning alternatives. A tool is used as a general term, meaning for example: a methodology, a method or a computer model.

We saw in task D that several planning criteria may be relevant for local energy system planning. In order to calculate/estimate the impacts alternatives will have in these criteria we wil probably need to use different tools. For example, instance economic models can be used to estimate economic impacts (costs, profits, etc.) environmental models like LCA can be used to estimate environmental indicators, etc.

This page provides descriptions and links to documentation of different types of impact assessment tools.
