BEACON is an exciting new initiative to support a thriving battery ecosystem in Norway. Bringing together leaders from research, small and medium enterprises, and industry, investors and public authorities, BEACON serves as a gathering place to exchange R&I advances, funding opportunities, and inter-disciplinary networking.
BEACON gives Norwegian enterprises and networks the opportunity to grow their activities while utilising European networks to expand internationally. BEACON will support Norwegian stakeholders to benefit from association with new European organizations like the European Battery Alliance (EBA), Batteries Europe ETIP and Battery2030+, and through these actions, we aim to establish Norway as a global leader in every link of the battery value chain.
Ambitious European battery research targets can be met
Brussels/Trondheim: The European Technology and Innovation Platform on Batteries (ETIP Batteries, Batteries Europe) has published its Strategic Research Agenda. The document sets the priorities that battery research should follow in the next years, supported by all relevant stakeholders including European, National and Regional R&I funding agencies.
BATTERY 2030+ – large-scale European initiative for battery research starts up
The European research initiative BATTERY 2030+ is now getting going. The ambition is to make Europe a world leader in the development and production of the batteries of the future. These batteries need to store more energy, have a longer life, and be safer and more environmentally friendly than today’s batteries in order to facilitate the transition to a more climate-neutral society. The project is led by Uppsala University.
