How to get to Geilo?

The easiest way to get to Geilo is by train on the Oslo-Bergen line. You must make your own travel arrangements. We recommend use of the travel planner at the NSB website. PLease notice that the winter school coincides with the Winter Holiday in Norwegian schools, so you should make your ticket reservations early.

The first introductory lectures start on Sunday afternoon at 15:30, so that you can catch the morning trains from Oslo/Bergen. The last lecture ends before lunch on Friday, which leaves you with plenty of time to catch a train back to Oslo/Bergen. If you arrive from abroad via Gardermoen on Saturday, we recommend you to book a hotel in Oslo from Saturday to Sunday, since hotel rooms at Geilo are hard to get during the weekend.
