BioCarbUp - Optimising the biocarbon value chain for a sustainable metallurgical industry
In the project BioCarb+ (Enabling the biocarbon value chain for energy); 2014-17, a huge effort was made towards studying the biocarbon value chain and its different value chain elements with respect to improvement possibilities while satisfying end-user demands. BioCarb+ was a broad competence buildings project, focussing both on energy applications and biocarbon as a reductant in metallurgical processes. Now a new competence building project, Optimising the biocarbon value chain for a sustainable metallurgical industry (BioCarbUp), is starting and will run for 4 years. This time the focus is entirely on biocarbon as reductant in metallurgical industries.
CoolFish will develop technologies and concepts for more integrated, energy-efficient and climate friendly cooling, freezing and heating onboard fishing vessels. It will also increase the knowledge transfer between research and industry, both nationally and internationally.
