Value created from productive oceans in 2050
The potential for increased value creation in Norwegian biomarine industry is huge. In a new analysis says a task force appointed by the two science academies NTVA and DKNVS that it is possible with a turnover of 550 billion in 2050, a sixfold increase from today. The working group consisted of renowned scientists, experienced managers, entrepreneurs and industry players. Scientists at SINTEF and NTNU have penned the report.
SINTEF signs MoU with TASA
A delegation from the Peruvian industrial company TASA, visited SINTEF this week in order to get better acquainted with the group's broad marine expertise. The visit ended with a signing of Memorandum of Understanding for future cooperation between the companies.
Caring for herring
For three years, the company MMC Tendos has collaborated with SINTEF on an improved pumping system for landing of herring and mackerel from purse seine. The result is a purse seiner that sucks herring and mackerel on board gently.
Efficient sorting lines for herring
Participants from industry and equipment suppliers in the pelagic sector, met recently to get a demonstration of an automatic sorting line that will provide efficiency, quality and improved profitability. The prototype is developed by SINTEF Fisheries and Aquaculture in collaboration with several industrial partners and will improve grading and sorting of pelagic fish in terms of both species and outer qualities.
