DESCRIPTION:Two thirds of industrial energy use is in the form of thermal
energy\, and most of this energy demand is still covered with fossil fuel
 s. In order to mitigate the climate change\, rapid decarbonization of ind
ustrial process heat production is required – and the fastest way for dec
arbonization is through electrification using high-temperature heat pumps
or electric boilers. This presentation will explain the role of thermal
energy storage in as a key enabler for decarbonization of process industr
y\, and present relevant case studies and results from FME HighEFF.
