Egil Giertsen is Special Advisor at SINTEF Ocean. He received his MSc in Civil Engineering at the Norwegian Institute of Technology (NTH, later NTNU) in 1980. During the last 22 years he has played a key role in research and development projects related to offshore pipeline, riser, umbilical and dynamic power cable technology. He is currently heading the Joint Industry Project (JIP) on Dynamic Response of Offshore Pipelines on the Seabed (DROPS).
