SATS Certification provides two types of test documentation:

• Certificate, based on tests carried out strictly in accordance with one or more IEC standards or Regional or National Standards aligned with IEC.
• Report of Performance, which contains a record of one or more tests which have been carried out in accordance with one or more IEC standards or Regional or National Standards and/or the client's instructions.

Certificates

Based on tests carried out in member laboratories, SATS may issue two types of certificates.

STL Type Test Certificate
A STL type test certificate contains a record of a series of type tests strictly in accordance with one or more IEC standards or Regional or National Standards aligned with IEC. The tested equipment has fulfilled the requirements of the standard(s) and therefore the relevant ratings assigned by the manufacturer are justified.

A list of STL Type Test Certificates issued by SATS Certification is available upon request.

Certificate of Type Conformity
A certificate of type conformity granted by SATS Certification attests, with adequate confidence, that the product identified exhaustively and physically available at the time of certification, confirms to IEC, ANSI/IEEE and/or other regional or national standards.

At its discretion, SATS Certification may also issue certificates based partly on tests carried out in other accredited STL member laboratories.
Only minor parts of tests, e.g. mechanical or material characterisation tests, may be performed in non-STL laboratories.

Report Based on tests carried out in member laboratories, or, at SATS's discretion in other accredited laboratories, SATS may issue two types of reports: Report of Performance A report of performance contains a record of one or more tests which have been carried out in accordance with one or more IEC standards or Regional or National Standards and/or the client's instructions. The results do not necessarily verify the ratings assigned by the manufacturer. Report of Type Conformity A report of type conformity attests, with adequate confidence, that the applicant's product identified in it and physically available at the time of certification, confirms to the specifications and/or other documents referred to in the report.
