Simo-Riflex - TRL7
MARINTEK has developed simulation tools for fixed and floating wind turbines. New functionality includes reading of TurbSim wind files, using external control logic, and vertical axis wind turbines.
In parallel, RIFLEX has also been extended with 2nd order wave kinematics. The workbench SIMA provides a graphical interface and efficient workflow. The software is benchmarked against other numerical tools and against model tests.
Improved coupled analysis models give more accurate load prediction, which in turn facilitates optimization and risk reduction.
The software is available to and being used by industry in current projects, as well as supporting research developments in real time hybrid model testing (ReaTHM).
Second order wave kinematics will be extended to short-crested seas in 2015. Continuous development and testing are carried out in parallel.
