The aim of the school is to provide a comprehensive overview of the state of the art in aluminium alloy technology. The lectures will focus on the basic metallurgy and mechanics controlling the evolution of microstructure and properties during industrial processing. The school is designed for:
• Solidification and homogenisation• Thermo-mechanical processing and its physical metallurgy• Crystal plasticity• Microstructure characterisation and modelling• Heat treatable alloys and age hardening• Weldability modelling• Forming and fracture• Severe plastic deformation• Surface & corrosion
