National Center for 3D Ultrasound in Surgery

Surgeons, engineers and scientists in Trondheim are collaborating closely in a unique way of improving current surgical methods and developing new techniques for minimally invasive surgery, using ultrasound as a navigating tool.

For the patient, this means

  • safer operations
  • operations that carried out more rapidly
  • that they are back on their feet sooner

The centre is staffed by experts from St. Olav's Hospital, NTNU and SINTEF, and is led by a steering group of representatives of the three partners. The group's secretariat is led by Research Director Toril N. Hernes of SINTEF.
