Social Innovation
Enhancing collective creativity in order to address and solve emerging social challenges is a key concern in our research group.
Social innovation on a micro level creates huge societal benefits, but these activities are seldom nurtured in an organized manner. We aim to combine our vast knowledge on everyday creativity with our experience in the field of policy and local democracy, to build projects on social innovation.
In the project “Freedom to Equality” (Frihet til Likeverd) our researchers, in collaboration with the University of Oslo and Telemarksforsking, conducted a series of filmed focus group dialogues across the Norwegian political landscape. The aim was to solicit the participant’s reflections on the general values of freedom, justice and equality in the context of state influence versus municipality autonomy.
