Concept programme

This research project is based on the year 2000 imitative of the Department of Finance to ensure that the basis for decision about large, public projects is improved. The relevant project owner department is now responsible for having risk analyses conducted in the front-end phase of such projects (budget exceeding 500 million NOK). Five consulting companies have been engaged to perform these analyses, and the objective is to create significant benefits for society through more successful projects, reduced costs, and improved profitability.

The aim of the project is to contribute to the theoretical basis of these analyses and through trailing research capture experiences that can help improve the analysis methodology, education within the area, and the general quality assurance of such projects.

The Concept programme is in a pre-project phase that will last to the end of 2001, while the main programme is planned to last till 2006.
