Decision support for hydroelectric maintenance and rehabilitation
The aim of the project is to establish an integrated analytical approach and accompanying decision support tools in order to achieve the best possible selection and planning of hydroelectric maintenance and rehabilitation projects, and to establish and disseminate fresh expertise within the sector.
Subsidiary goals:
- To develop tools based on the "Vansimtap" model which automatically finds the optimal point in time (i.e., that which incurs the minimum loss of production revenues) for a given rehabilitation project.
- To develop PC software for multi-goal decision support (finances, safety, environment, etc.)
- To develop tools for the estimation of failure probability, remaining lifetime, etc.
- To develop control modules for the automatic start-up of individual modules and a standard interface for data flow between modules.
- To contribute to the establishment of national operational statistics for maintenance purposes.
- To develop sector-oriented user training and further education courses.
