Costs linked to power failures and voltage disruptions
Power cuts and voltage disruptions cost Norwegian end users approximately NOK 1 - 1.5 billion annually.

Our research activities in this field are extensive and are concerned with, among other things:

  • The development of a method to evaluate end-users' costs resulting from power failures and voltage disruptions
  • Online metering, monitoring and supply quality analysis
  • Error analysis
  • The performance of cost assessments (both in Norway and globally)
  • The development of methods for the planning and monitoring of power distribution grids which take such costs into account
  • The development of the authorities' regulatory procedures governing distribution companies, taking into account the end-users' experiences of supply quality
