Synthesis and Properties

We develop and optimise materials with tailored chemical and physical properties. This is achieved through a fundamental understanding of material properties combined with applied research. We employ a wide range of advanced characterisation techniques, often supplemented by mathematical modelling. The department serves important industrial sectors, particularly the polymer, metallurgical, oil and fine-chemicals industry.
