Production Technology
We offer expertise in automated manufacturing, supply chain management and improvement projects. By using modern tools, theory and experience, we ensure optimum efficiency and quality of production.
The department's vision is to develop technology and system solutions for profitable production.
The faculty of Production Technology is focused on continually developing its own depth knowledge, industry experience and performance. This applies particularly in the areas of automated manufacturing and production strategies for industrialization.
We are committed to providing good network of contacts and cooperation, both nationally and internationally. Our greatest strength is its ability to combine theory and practical understanding to industrial projects, as well as proximity to our customers
The department has three main subject areas:
Comprehensive system solutions for production
Automation and robotics
Hybrid production
We participate in EU projects and has several user-led projects with Norwegian businesses in a variety of industries: Aerospace, automotive, electro-mechanical, energy, food, marine, mechanical, furniture, subsea, foundry and tools. The department has an academic foundation for our partners at SINTEF and NTNU through joint projects, Centre for Research-based innovation SFI Norman and two gemini centers:
Gemini Centre for Advanced Robotics
Gemini Centre for Integrated Design and Additive Manufacturing (IDAM)
The department has access to modern laboratories for verification of theoretical research and implementation of industrial projects. We cover the whole chain from basic research, to verification, implementation and monitoring companies.
