The pilot scale submerged arc furnace is frequently used to study the production of ferroalloys, including ferromanganese, silicon manganese, ferrosilicon, silicon, chromium and nickel. The furnace uses a 150 kW power supply, with a voltage range of 10 to 80 V, which is applied between a 150mm graphite top electrode and a bottom electrode.
