Cold Crucible furnace

The cold crucible furnace consists of a water cooled copper crucible inductively heated in a controlled atmosphere or air. It is possible to prepare samples with a volume up to 250 ml, with no contamination from the crucible. This allows extremely aggressive materials with a high melting point, such as high TiO2 slags, to be prepared quickly and simply.
