Electrochemical industry has a long tradition in Norway, and constitutes one of the country’s most important export businesses. Today, Norwegian aluminium industry in particular, holds a strong international position and aluminium electrolysis is the predominant field of our work. This includes most of the electrolysis cell from the energy balance, the refractories, carbon electrodes and the sidelinings via the electrolyte to the off gas. We also work with the development of new energy efficient electrochemical processes for production of titanium, silicon, iron and other advanced materials.
