Ever more stringent demands are being made of the logistics solutions that are offered to clients, whether in terms of time consumption, delivery precision, damage frequency, costs, or flexibility, etc.
This is largely a result of the fact that we are increasingly abandoning the idea of regarding logistics activities as a necessary cost, in favour of seeing logistics solutions as a potential means of achieving a competitive advantage over competitors. This development has led to a growing need for efficient means of analysing existing solutions and, on the basis of these analyses, as well as knowledge of best practice, being able to rapidly suggest new and more efficient solutions.
MARINTEK has gained wide practical experience of performing studies of this type. Our practical experience is coupled with detailed knowledge of underlying theoretical principles as well as detailed knowhow regarding best practice in the logistics solutions employed in most branches of industry and for a wide range of products.
In order to guarantee that these studies are performed in an efficient and thorough manner, MARINTEK makes use of a comprehensive and well-tried set of methods. With the aid of this methodology, existing processes are modelled, and quantitative and qualitative parameters are defined and systematised. On the basis of detailed knowledge of existing solutions and best practice, we work out proposals for new logistics solutions. In addition to drawing up such proposals for alternative logistics solutions, we also provide evaluations of the organisational and competence-related implications of the proposed solutions.
