MARINTEK arranged an open workshop to present the outcomes of the Research Council of Norway supported project "Construction and intervention vessels for Arctic oil and gas" at Marine Technology Centre in Trondheim on 7th March.
Some 30 representatives of the Norwegian maritime and offshore cluster got presentations describing outcomes of the project. An Arctic intervention vessel has been designed and tested based on mission specifications and available metocean and ice conditions for the Norwegian part of the Eastern Barents Sea. Open water and ice tests have been made in the project.
Related Arctic marine operation projects lead by NTNU were presented and supported by presentations on state of the art for metocean and ice forecasting and mapping of metocean and ice parameters for selected locations in the Barents Sea. Click here for a closer look at the workshop schedule.
