MoU signed between MARINTEK and KOMtech (Singapore)

Keppel Offshore & Marine Technology Centre Pte Ltd (“KOMtech”) and MARINTEK signed a Memorandum of Understanding on 6th March 2010 during the visit from the Norwegian Minister of Trade and Industry  to Singapore.

This MOU is intended as an expression of intent to establish the basis for technological, scientific and academic cooperation between the Parties, for the execution of projects, scientific studies and similar activities that includes the development and/or application of technologies in several areas. Some of these areas are identified as:

  • Design and Operation of Ships and Platforms in harsh condition including challenges in the Arctic Areas,
  • Environmentally friendly vessel concepts including use of LNG,
  • Activities related to renewable energy production.

MARINTEK's intention is to strengthen our international activities, our knowledge and scientific base and our capabilities both in simulation and laboratory testing through this collaboration with an international leading Industry company. MARINTEK intend to still be a leading R&D player in the maritime and offshore sector.



The picture shows the signing ceremony at Keppel Head Office in Singapore, with Centre Director, Mr Charles Foo, KOMtech and Egil Rensvik, Vice President Marketing at MARINTEK. The signing was witnessed by the Norwegian Minister Trond Giske, and the Chairman of Keppel Offshore & Marine, Mr Choo Chou Beng.
