Living Lab

Living Lab is an approach to innovation and development where users are directly involved in technology innovataion, taking their own life context as their starting point. A large number of Living Labs have been established in Europe the last few years, in partricular within the ICT field.

Projects

  • RECORD - established the first Norwegian Living Lab
  • SociaLL - Social software for co-creation in Living Labs is a nordic resewarch project involving SINTEF, Copenhagen Living Lab, Halmstad Living Lab and Botnia Living Lab.
  • NETworked POWER  will use the Living Lab for feedback on solutions where social media are used for innovation purposes.
  • R2D2 networks will use the Living lab to involve users of web-based media in analyses of their own media usage.
  • CITIZEN MEDIA has used participants from the Living Lab to get feedback on solutions developed in the project.

In our Living Lab we develop ideas, concepts and prototypes in cooperation with users. The users participate from their own computer, through a web-based interface.

We are part of "The European Network of Living Labs" (www.openlivinglabs.eu).

Asbjørn Følstad

Asbjørn Følstad works with processes and methods for Living Labs. How should a virtual Living Lab be designed? Who should participate? How to utilize user feedback?
