Antenna and RF technology
Introduction
Front-end electronics in communication systems is used to transform information-carrying signals into electromagnetic waves that are transmitted through the air.
Our Research
Our antenna research is focused on design of smart antennas and antenna-design using new types of materials e.g. molded in plastic. RFID antennas in metal environments are also a part of our activities. In addition, we develop custom-designed antennas for different frequency ranges.
Another main field of competence is design and prototype development of RF systems. These systems may range from VHF to some hundreds GHz, and are normally constructed using off-the-shelf components. We also have R&D activities related to RF-ASIC.
MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical-Systems) technology is a relatively new and exciting area. Our research focus here is on reconfigurable front-end modules for the 1 - 32 GHz frequency area.
