Background
Oddvar Kloster has a MSc in industrial mathematics from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology. He has been a research scientist at SiNTEF since 1995.
Research Interests
His research interests are centered around heuristic optimization methods, local search algorithms and metaheuristics, although he also employs exact methods, including CSP and mixed integer programming, where appropriate. Applications are mainly in transportation planning, including VRP and shortest path problems. Recent work has focused on marine inventory routing.
