Background

Dr. Bård Skaflestad is research scientist in the simulation group in the department of applied mathematics at the institute of information and communication technology at SINTEF.  He holds a doctorate degree in numerical analysis from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU).

Research Interests

His primary research topic is currently multiscale simulation of porous media flow, with a particular emphasis on the pressure equation.  He is involved in both the MATLAB Reservoir Simulation Toolbox project and the Open Porous Media initiave. Additional research interests include high performance computing and constructing simulation software. Dr. Skaflestad has more than 10 years of MATLAB experience and is a strong believer in open-source software.
