Hearing aid

A hearing aid is much more than an amplifier. The hearing aids of today are digital machines which does complicated processing of the sound signal.

This may include simple processing such as frequency conversion and compression. More complicated processing include feedback cancelling algorithms and noise cancellation.

A hearing aid also need to be small and have a small power requirement. In addition to signal processing for the individual ear, bilateral considerations are important to preserve the spatial sound experience for the user. We have worked on these aspects during several projects.
