Microalgae
Microalgae are found in high numbers of species, and many have properties that can be exploited industrially. We study how marine microalgae can be used for production of compounds with special properties, such as regulation of bacterial growth, immunostimulation and for production of high-value fatty acids. Further, in marine juvenile production microalgae are very important for conditioning of live feed organisms and for microbial control of rearing water. Microalgae can be cultivated in batch or continous cultures, and we have long experience in optimalisation of culture technology for production of algae and characterization of compounds of industrial interest.
