SINTEF Fisheries and Aquaculture has knowledge and broad competence in the field of the utilization of renewable marine resources.  Our institute contributes to solutions along the whole value chain - from biological and marine production, aquaculture and fisheries to prosessing and distribution.

Department of Processing Technology conducts technology-based research and development. The department focuses on developing optimal processes with a higher level of automatisation in order to achieve more profitability in the processing of marine products.

Department of Aquaculture Technology performs research projects in the entire farmed fish chain, from fish fry to slaughtering.

Department of International projects and Consulting. By combining the competence of the researchers and the experience and competence of the consulting group, both in Norway and internationally, we aim at carrying out services suited to the actual needs and thus contributing to a positive development to our customers.

Deaprtment of Fisheries technology is taking part in the development of the fishing fleet of tomorrow. We want to contribute to achieving a sustainable utilization of the marine resources that is profitable for the fisherman. This mean developing more efficient fishing methods,  gear, and ways to better utilize the catch.

Department of Marine Resources Technology performs research projects for utilization of marine resources. The department has expertise for carrying out projects in Marine First Feeding Technology, Marine Biotechnology, Marine Feed Technology, Integrated Aquaculture, Ocean Circulation and Marine Ecosystems
