| A part of the large test hall is being prepared for fire extinguishing tests according to IMO 1165 (machinery spaces) |
The floor is approximately 590m2 (36 x 16.5m) and the headroom varies from 22 to 28 m. The test hall is designed for all types of full scale and large scale fire tests. It is designed to withstand the heat and smoke load of a 12 m2 large gasoline fire and 18 m high flames. The walls are specially designed to endure a continuous temperature load of 700 °C. The test hall enables us to study fire development under controlled conditions and to test extinguishing methods like water mist systems for rooms up to 3000 m3 and even larger.
