In September Lise and Vigdis attended the 2016 International Hydrogen Conference, supported by among others our collaborating international project partner I2CNER.

Grand Tetons

This conference, held only every fourth year, is considered one of the premier topical meetings on hydrogen effects in materials. It is therefore an import venue for both presenting our research and discussing hydrogen related challenges. Our group contributed with one presentation by Vigdis and one poster by Lise; additionally Vigdis was chair for one session on hydrogen modelling and simulation. There were also two PhD students on other hydrogen related projects attending from NTNU, in total four people representing NTNU and SINTEF.
The conference was held in beautiful Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming, USA, at 2000 m height, featuring fantastic sceneries. Multiple signs warning about bear attacks could be seen around the site, luckily we did not personally experience this.
Lise presented the poster: Hydrogen Embrittlement at the Interface of Clad Steel Pipes – Fracture Mechanical Testing and FE Simulations. Especially industry attendees showed great interest in our research on clad pipes. See Lise's poster here.
