HDwave – High-dimensional statistical modelling of changes in wave climate and implications for maritime infrastructure
The primary objective of HDwave is to improve the knowledge of future wave climate and to assess the impact of future changes on maritime infrastructure.
Direct Electrical Heating of Flowlines (DEH)
Hydrate and wax formation in subsea transport flowlines will cause undesired fluid properties and even blocking of the wellstream, following shutdown and comprehensive repairs. Direct electrical heating (DEH) is developed as a method for avoiding hydrates and wax, and is also applicable for removal of plugs.
HyF-Lex – Field life extension through controlling the combined material degradation of fatigue and hydrogen
The HyF-Lex project seeks to increase the fundamental understanding of the mechanisms inherent to hydrogen assisted fatigue crack growth in steels, as well as contributing to a model framework for assessment of hydrogen-assisted fatigue.
DREAM – Dose-related Risk and Effects Assessment Model
The numerical model DREAM (Dose related Risk and Effect Assessment Model) accounts for releases of complex mixtures of chemicals, such as those associated with produced water and drilling discharges. DREAM is used as a decision support tool for management of operational discharges to the marine environment.
OSCAR – Oil Spill Contingency and Response
OSCAR is a state of the art model and simulation tool for predicting the fates and effects of oil released during an accidental release of oil, either from a platform or a vessel. OSCAR provides insight in the behavior of oil during an accident and captures the effects of contingency and response, allowing for contingency analysis and planning as well as hind- and forecasting.
Gunnar Sande - new PhD candidate in the ROP project
My name is Gunnar Sande, and I am a PhD student in the ROP project. For my thesis, I will focus on experimental work and the technical challenges related to the hyperbaric welding method.
Taking care of elderly wells
Thousands of old offshore oil wells will have to be plugged to prevent them leaking. The process may cost several hundred million Norwegian kroner, and you and I will have to find most of the money. Researchers are now proposing a solution that may offer some relief for what is a major headache for the Norwegian state.
