CCS chains are case and scenario sensitive, and each case often requires individual design for reaching the optimal solution. The main objective is to develop a consistent and transparent methodology and simulation tool for integrated techno-economic and environmental CCS chain assessment. The ambition is to enable selection of the most promising alternatives for CO2 chains and reduce uncertainty by improving knowledge and by developing adequate solutions for managing risk in CCS
Industry Value chains and networks
Value chains and networks
The emerging Physical Internet concept suggests changes to improve the sustainability of freight transport. Cargo owners and forwarders will not book transport services for the whole transport chain in advance. New actors will take responsibility for transports that are optimal to the society.
We are internationally recognised in research on productivity and project management, and offers Norwegian business and management expertise and assistance to the promotion of Norwegian competitiveness. Our services cover both research, counseling and process development.
Transport is crucial to the society. Freight transport provides citizens and businesses with the goods, and free mobility for persons is a human right in most countries. However, transport has significant negative effects like pollution, causalities, space consumption, reduction in urban life quality, etc. ICT applied in infrastructures, vehicles, fleet management, user applications and traffic management can mitigate the negative effects and facilitate sustainable transport.
VALUMICS - Understanding food value chain and network dynamics
The overall objective of the VALUMICS project is to provide decision makers throughout food value chains with a comprehensive suite of approaches and tools that will enable them to evaluate the impact of strategic and operational policies to enhance the resilience, integrity and sustainability of food value chains for European countries.
Re-FOOD is an international partnership for research and education in energy efficient resource utilization in FOOD value chains between Norway and India.
Taking care of elderly wells
Thousands of old offshore oil wells will have to be plugged to prevent them leaking. The process may cost several hundred million Norwegian kroner, and you and I will have to find most of the money. Researchers are now proposing a solution that may offer some relief for what is a major headache for the Norwegian state.
Good or bad innovation ideas?
The traditional way of running a project with a beginning and an end will soon be history. The scientists have a smarter solution.
