SINTEF has a large number of various reactors for screening of catalysts and adsorbents. SINTEF has knowledge and experience in designing and building laboratory reactors for a range of industrial processes.

Our reactors have been used for research and development in:

  • Refinery processes
  • Natural gas conversion
  • Bio-mass conversion
  • deNOx chemistry
  • Gas storage and separation

Examples of in-house reactors:

  • Fixed bed reactor
  • Fluidized bed reactor
  • Pulse reactor
  • CSTR
  • Circulating fluidized bed reactor
  • Micro activity test reactor (FCC)
  • Autoclave and slurry reactors

The feed systems and product analyses accompanying the reactors are often automated to increase the cost efficiency and sample throughput.

Our advanced characterization equipment can for instance be applied in studying the behavior of catalysts and adsorbents in-situ.
