This is a “state of the art” report, a delivery in the project “Safety and Security Aspects of Integrated Operations in Oil and Gas Industry” within Program 4, at NTNU/IO Centre.

The scope of this report is to present the state of the art with respect to collaboration between offshore and onshore facilities, based on integration of technology, man and organisation.
During operations and handling of unwanted incidents our focus is to increase the safety, security and resilience of integrated operations between control rooms offshore, the operators onshore operation centre, the service company’s onshore operations centre, external experts and remote collaborations rooms. (Security is used in the context of safety.)

Further research are suggested related to collaboration between onshore and offshore, key issues to be explored are “how is common situational awareness maintained”, “how is coordination and control performed” and “how could safety, security and resilience be improved by IO”.
