In the following we describe the optimal path to/from Geilo for participants of the Winter School and the eScience meeting
The easiest way to get to Geilo is by train on the Oslo-Bergen line. You must make your own travel arrangements. We recommend use of the travel planner at the NSB website. There is also an express bus to/from the Oslo airport, but only on Fridays and Sundays. Details are found on www.geilo.no.
The first introductory lecture is planned to start on Sunday afternoon at 16:30, so that you can catch the morning or day trains from Oslo/Bergen. The last lecture ends before lunch on Wednesday, which leaves you with plenty of time to have your lunch at the hotel before you catch a train back to Oslo/Bergen. If you need to spend an extra night because of an early/late flight, we suggest that you book a room in Oslo/Bergen.
